Marin LEO for
Elected Officials & Staff

There’s a better way to create meaningful community change.

And it doesn’t have to include bureaucracy and burnout. Marin LEO for Elected Leaders provides a road map for anyone in public office looking to solve social problems, move beyond polarization, shift systems, and tap into the community's greatest potential.

Marin LEO for Elected Officials has been designed for
and by alumni who hold public office, with the opportunity
to bring staff who partner with you on shared initiatives.

This opportunity is for City Council Members,
County Supervisors, and School Board Trustees.

Online via Zoom
June 6th 9-3pm & June 7th 9-1pm

Have you ever thought to yourself...

I love serving as a public servant, but I’m feeling burned out.

We’re all working hard, but I’m not sure if we’re seeing the right results.

We’re working in silos. Our efforts feel scattered and lack the unity to create real change.

How can we bring our community's values into our governance/policy work?

There is so much red tape. It takes forever to get anything done.

I'd like to reach stronger community consensus on challenging policy issues.

Leadership for Equity and Opportunity is based on a proven framework for leadership for community and societal change with over 1500 alumni in the Bay Area and 500 in Marin County.

Over the last decade, Dr. Monica Sharma, former Director of Leadership and Capacity Development for the United Nations has helped facilitate cohorts of this program in the Bay Area and Marin, building on her decades of experience navigating complex social issues for measurable results around the world

The program includes dozens of tested tools and practices for leading and sustaining measurable results in policy, norms and systems change. Through partnership with Impact Launch and Marin Community Foundation Buck Family Fund, local alumni are hosting a special cohort of this program designed for and by community leaders who hold public office. This Marin LEO Cohort will include the opportunity for staff to also participate with the elected official. This opportunity is for City Council Members, County Supervisors, and School Board Trustees.

This will be a safe, courageous and generative space for those with decision making power, authority and influence to come together, try on tools and deepen leadership capacity for creating the results they deeply care about. Brown act concerns?  No worries, we will be designing the process to be in compliance!

Testimonials

Through participating in Marin LEO, I learned new strategies for creating change and enjoyed the support of others cohort participants to put these tools into practice. Public service doesn't come with a 'how to' manual so the LEO curriculum provides a solid foundation for

becoming an effective policymaker who

knows how to engage their community.
